It's been quite a journey since my brain injury, but I'm proud to say that I've been able to move forward and find a new normal in my life. Along the way, I've gained a greater understanding of what it means to live with a brain injury, and how it can affect every aspect of a person's life.

One of the most significant changes for me has been how the injury has opened my eyes to the struggles that others may face with mTBIs, TBIs, and post-concussive syndrome. I now have a newfound empathy and understanding for the challenges that these individuals may encounter in their daily lives, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to be a more compassionate support system for them.

Through my recovery, I've also come to appreciate life in a new way. The things that I used to take for granted now hold a deeper meaning for me, and I'm more grateful for the moments of joy and happiness that come my way. My faith has been an anchor throughout this experience, providing me with hope and a sense of peace during some of the darkest moments of my recovery.

Moving forward, I want to use my experience to help others who may be going through something similar. I've learned so much about brain injury and the healing process, and I want to share that knowledge with others. If you or someone you love is dealing with a brain injury, my advice is to be patient, take care of yourself, and surround yourself with a supportive community. It may not be easy, but with time and effort, it is possible to find a new normal and move forward in life.

I’m not the person I used to be, but I am a stronger Minister and more equipped to support my community that struggles with these challenges.
